Vlog #1: Kissing and Pie!

June 14, 2013 by Kiersi

One of the first things I did after getting home from my trip was to stop by YA author Kelly Hashway’s blog. (I haven’t visited a lot of my favorite blogs since I left, but I’m on the road to getting caught up! I promise!)

Kelly’s video teaser of Advantage: Heartbreak gave me an idea. I’ve been meaning to do a vlog (video blog) for some time, and I had a friend encouraging me to do it, but I just didn’t feel like I had the gumption or the material. So, I took a page from Kelly’s book and decided to include a snippet of my new project in the vlog, and I think it actually came out all right.

Now, for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure, it’s really up to you), I present:

  1. Kiersi, you are adorable! I’ve seen you via the Skype interview we did, but I loved this. You should definitely do more.

The “pie” part of your WIP snippet was awesome. 😉

And thanks for mentioning me. Much appreciated.

Kiersi, very cute. Good luck on your upcoming release, and DO make more vlogs (perhaps just a trifle shorter…? Hard to squeeze in the time to visit around in the am before my day job.)

  3. omgosh,
you are adoooooorable. I LOVE your first Raw VLOG. FAAaaab.

  4. I thought you did an amazing job! I bought Scrivener earlier this year and have yet to take full advantage of it. I write my fast drafts in Word and then edit in Scrivener, which as you said lets the writer keep track of characters, events, etc… I’ve only recently started writing my blog posts in S. And yes, congrats on the upcoming release.

Thank you, Brenda! I adore Scrivener. I’m actually on the side putting together a Scrivener blog post, and I think I’ll do one on “drafting” and one on “revising” because a lot of people know how to do one or the other, but not both!

Blog posts too, huh? Good idea!

Great vlog – especially for the first one! (Whoops, there went one of my two exclamation points for the month.) (Elmore Leonard’s rules, y’know.)

Would love to see you write about something you touched on in here. Why “write what you know” is such bad advice.

I prefer writing what I don’t know, and then doing research later.

Congrats on the Aug book release.
